NOTICE OF VACANCY

Notice is given that a vacancy exists for a Resident of a cottage belonging to the Trust. Applicants must be at least 60 years of age, have an urgent housing need and have resided in the Parish of Knockholt or Halstead for a period in excess of two years prior to application.

Applications for appointment should be made in writing to the undersigned on or before Wednesday, 31st July 2024.

Applications must include the applicants name, address, age and occupation (if applicable) including full details of the financial status of the applicant and the reasons why the application is being made. Applications will be treated in strict confidence. References and other evidence of qualification may be required and interviews will be conducted by the Trustees (which include the Rector and Churchwardens of St. Katharine’s Church) as soon as possible after the closing date.

  • In special cases, and in the absence of eligible applications from residents of Knockholt or Halstead, persons who do not possess the prescribed qualifications as to residence may be appointed at the discretion of the Trustees.

  • Residents will be required to contribute a weekly sum towards the cost of maintaining the cottages of the Charity.

Please note that the Cottages may not be suitable for applicants unable to safely negotiate the narrow and steep stairs to the bedroom area. For further information, or if you have any questions, please email the Treasurer.
